Wellwood Conservancy name

Place-centered, world-focused”

The mission of Wellwood Conservancy is to move the world toward success of both human and natural systems. This is accomplished through operating an educational nature preserve, actively conserving local lands and waters, and delivering high-quality research and educational programs.

Wellwood Conservancy was incorporated in June of 2010 in order to continue and broaden the conservation and education efforts that had begun privately at the site many years previously. With a mission to "move the world toward success of both human and natural systems," the Conservancy, while working locally, keeps its focus on the big picture of addressing world issues. Through its educational programs, its scientific studies, its conservation of the Wellwood Nature Preserve, and its partnerships with other organizations, Wellwood Conservancy attempts concrete steps, however small, toward the realization of a vibrant human civilization on a healthy planet. The tagline, "Place-Centered, World-Focused," captures this approach.
